There isn't a day that goes by that I don't hear,
“Why are you so mad?” Family, friends, co-workers, they all think I'm upset about something. I hear, “You're so beautiful would it kill you to smile?" "It's a shame you live life so unhappy." "Be happy!” I simply reply, “This is just my face.” Does someone's facial expression determine their well-being? Does my serious face determine my mood? Hearing the constant judgment, and questions of why I feel the way I do, I begin to question myself. Am I okay? Is there really something bothering me? Wait, wait, wait, I begin to come back to my senses and then ask the question, Do you smile everyday? Does your face appear the way you want mine to look? You constantly ridicule myself and my mom about how I angry I am when you don't realize, you and I are exactly alike! Stop judging people for their outward appearance and start to get to know the people behind the “scowl” Some people are hiding behind a mask because of the fear of being weak. You don't know what is going on in people's lives so, stop the assumptions, this is just my face!
